Climates vary from region to region, so not all lawn care is the same. We are a locally owned and operated family business that strives to deliver exceptional customer service and results. Because we have been doing lawn service for nearly 70 years, we know that our customers have different wants and needs. This experience has led us to offer both organic and traditional programs, as well as basic, premier, or custom lawn care options. Our experts will do an analysis of your yard and recommend services specific to the issues we encounter. Our lawn care programs include:
Natural Lawn Program: Our organic lawn care services only use products that are certified organic by the Washington State Department of Agriculture. This program entails 6 fertilizer applications and 1 lime application which will help balance the lawn’s PH.
Traditional Lawn Program: We also offer non-organic fertilizer choices for your yard, weeds, and moss. Choose between our premier or basic program, or develop a program specific to your needs. Custom programs can include 4-7 applications each year.
Basic Lawn Program: The basic program provides you with 5 applications per year. Around Oct-Dec we will apply fertilizer and moss control. Jan-Feb we will apply a granular lime application. Feb-March we will re-apply the fertilizer and moss control applications. Finally, around Apr-Oct we will apply 2 separate applications of liquid weed & feed or a granular fertilizer.
Premier Lawn Program: Our premier program follows the same application time frame as our basic program, however around Apr-Oct we will apply 4 applications as opposed to 2 in the basic. The premier lawn program provides you with 7 applications per year.
We provide a wide range of lawn maintenance services in both Seattle and Tacoma, and we guarantee you’ll be pleased with the quality of lawn care and customer service we provide. Our lawn services include:

Core aeration is a method used to remove thatching in yards. Thatch is simply the layer of decomposing grass, debris, and roots found between the soil and the grass. A modest level of thatch is important for healthy yards, however, if the yard becomes overrun with thatch then it becomes a hotbed for weeds, grass-eating bugs, and lawn diseases.
To prevent too much thatch from developing we use core aeration machines that produce breathing holes in the soil by removing chunks of grass, thatch, and soil.
Even though the Puget Sound area is lush and provided with plenty of rainfall, the soil may not have enough essential nutrients necessary for optimal growth. Plants, shrubs, trees, and your grass are all competing for the limited nutrients in the soil, and because of this it is recommended to add additional nutrients to help them grow healthier, and fuller. Washington Tree & Lawn Care provides scheduled fertilization applications based upon the requirements of the yard deemed necessary by our expert analysis.
All lawns have varying amounts of weeds that need to be controlled. Even if you think your yard is weed free, those pesky guys find a way to come back to life. Besides simply looking unpleasant, weeds steal essential nutrients from the soil that could have been better fed to your grass, or other desired plants. We create custom weed control programs to remove these unwanted weeds, and guarantee approximately 85-95% control of the weeds in the landscape.
Because moss sometimes takes over the grass, or finds itself clinging to unwanted structures, it can be important to control and remove it. In general, moss is a symptom of one or more of these instances: acidic soil, too much thatch, too much shade, too much or too little water. Let our experts analyse your lawn and determine the appropriate steps to eliminate the issue.
Soil has a tendency to become acidic, and it is sometimes necessary to spread a lime application a few times a year. The lime will neutralize the soil and raise the pH level, which in turn will provide a better growing environment for your grass. To combat against acidic soil it is recommended to spread a lime application which helps to neutralize the soil and raise the pH level. Our staff will test your lawn’s pH level and make recommendations as needed.
As adults, the Crane Fly resembles a mosquito and is relatively harmless, however when they are in their larvae stage they can be very destructive to yards. A Crane Fly infestation can leave a yard with bald spots or yellow and thinned sections of grass due to their feeding habits. To avoid this damage it's best to apply insecticide in the Fall, killing them off before the larvae matures enough to feed off your lawn. This preventative maintenance can save both time and money in areas where Crane Flies are prevalent.
It's possible for lawns to develop a hydrophobic or water repelling effect, especially during the hot and dry season. This outer waxy coating prevents water from penetrating the soil, thus eventually killing off the grass. For situations such as these, it is recommended to apply a wetting agent which can break up the waxy coating and allow moisture to penetrate the soil.
