Ant Control in Seattle & Tacoma
you seeing trails of ants in your house? Maybe they’re coming in from the back door, or creeping out of your pantry cabinet? Ants can be an extremely frustrating pest to get rid of. They can prove to be a major headache, and beyond the frustration they cause, ants can damage your property, they can bite and they can contaminate your food.
Have you already tried spraying the ants in your house… and they’ve come back? That’s because the ants that you’re seeing are probably only one-tenth of the ants that are hiding in or below your home!
Ant colonies can live as deep as six feet underground. The queen stays hidden and out of sight, where she can keep reproducing. The only way to completely rid your house of ants is by eliminating the queen. A queen ant can live for years, but once she is gone, the colony has a limited period of survival. That’s because worker ants cannot reproduce.
One colony can produce millions of ants. Get rid of ants for good by calling our professional ant exterminators at (844) 293-1601

Odorous House Ants
Odorous house ants get their name because of the stench they produce when they are smashed. If crushed, they give off a smell that can only be explained as rotten coconut. They are extremely tiny; they range from 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch and they can be brown or black in color.
Odorous house ants are attracted to sugar. They also scavenge dead insects for food. If they’re living inside of a house, you’ll most likely see them scurrying up the wall into a crack or coming and going from a crack in your floor.
you ever wondered where carpenter ants get their name? It’s because they build their homes inside of the wood. Carpenter ants create tunnels inside of wood as pathways to transfer food back to their nest. For this reason, carpenter ants can cause large amounts of damage to houses, barns, business and any area that has a structure made out of wood.
Carpenter ants range in size from 1/4 to 3/4 of an inch long. They can be red or black in color and they have antennas. Some may have wings, depending upon their gender and the hierarchical position they hold in their colony.

Pharaoh ants are extremely invasive; each colony has multiple nests and queens. Because one colony may have multiple queens, eliminating an entire colony can be extremely hard. Most ant colonies will die when their queen dies. Because there is more than one queen in pharaoh ant colonies, the colony will keep surviving regardless of whether one nest and one queen is destroyed.
Pharaoh ants are yellow or light brown in color with an abdomen that is darker than the rest of their body. They’re around 1/16 of an inch long and they have a false stinger.
Pavement ants get their name because of how they nest inside of pavement cracks. They are extremely attracted to sugar, so you’ll oftentimes find pavement ants inside of your house eating sugary foods that are laying around or insecurely packaged. Because they’re scavengers, once they find sugar they’ll stick around and eat almost any type of food; making your entire kitchen subject to prey.
Like pharaoh ants, one colony of pavement ants will have multiple queens. One colony may include between 3,000 to 4,000 ants. Pavement ants are about 1/8 of an inch long and dark brown or black in color. Their body has three segments and they all have antennas.
Little Black Ants
Little black ants are shiny and either dark brown or black in color. They’re small; ranging from 1/16 to 1/8 inch in length. Like the pharaoh and pavement ant, one colony of ants will have at least two queens, if not more. Little black ants are scavengers and will create nests wherever they find a sizable food source. You might find them in gardens feeding off of aphids, in cracks of cement feeding off of dead insects, or inside of your house feeding off of crumbs and unpackaged foods.
